Member Training
Flotilla 85 has on-going member training at each monthly business meeting. The subjects include all aspects of duties in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary provides qualifications, specialty, and Coast Guard training at no cost to its members. Qualification training is available for Crew and Coxswain, Instructor, Vessel Examiner, Pilot and Air Observer, Program Visitor, Aids to Navigation Verifier, and Communications Watchstander.
Advanced training is available in Seamanship, Navigation, Communications, Search and Rescue, Patrols, and Weather. These are specialty courses leading to the AUXOP (Operational Auxiliarist, the most highly trained Auxiliarist) designation. When requested by the members, one of the special courses which are needed for the AUXOP qualification will be given.
Remember that DIRAUX WEST (Director of Auxiliary, 7th Coast Guard District) has many courses "on-line" that can be taken from the comfort of your home. Click on the DIRAUX WEST link on the previous page.
